Our meetings take place in Galway city and currently our branch members hail from Galway, Clare, Roscommon, Mayo, Westmeath, Sligo, Sweden and the USA The venue for our meetings is the Galway Bridge Centre St Mary's Road Galway H91 C2C3 from 10am - 12.30 Our meetings feature guest speakers, a show and tell of members' recent work and visiting shops with patchwork and quilting supplies.....and a welcoming cuppa on arrival. The next meeting of the Western Branch will take place on: Saturday September 13th from 10am - 12.30pm in the Galway Bridge Centre. H91 C2C3. Our guest speaker this month is Shonagh Love, a New Zealand textile artist who has lived and worked in Connemara for many years. At her studio in Letterfrack, Studio One, Shonagh makes knitwear, hand-dyed fabrics in a myriad of colours and textures. Shonagh will have some of her products with her. There will be some hand dyed fabrics, beads and knitted goods. Shonagh does not have a card reader so bring cash or a chequebook.

Advance notice for our meeting on October 11th We will be have a hand-stitching, Kawandi quilting workshop using African fabrics generously provided by Virtue Shine from Emerald and Wax in Bearna. Please sign up at the September meeting if you'd like to take part.There will also be a sign up sheet for machine servicing by John O'Donnell at our October meeting. Admission €5 at the door, please bring a €5 note. Looking forward to seeing you. |
