Our meetings take place in Galway city and currently our branch members hail from Galway, Clare, Roscommon, Mayo, Westmeath, Sligo, Sweden and the USA The venue for our meetings is the Galway Bridge Centre St Mary's Road Galway H91 C2C3 from 10am - 12.30 Our meetings feature guest speakers, a show and tell of members' recent work and visiting shops with patchwork and quilting supplies.....and a welcoming cuppa on arrival. The next meeting of the Western Branch will take place on: Saturday Ocotober 11th from 10am - 12.30pm in the Galway Bridge Centre. H91 C2C3. Our guest speaker this month is Virtue Shine, of Emerald and Wax Designs who will be talking about her clothing business which uses traditional African fabrics, including Dutch wax or Ankara prints. She will bring off cuts from these fabrics which will be for sale
If you haven’t already done so, Membership renewal can be done at the meeting on Saturday John O'Donnell will be servicing those machcines booked in at the meeting. Admission €5 at the door, please bring a €5 note. Looking forward to seeing you. In the afternoon Julia Liberty will lead a workshop using this fabric in the Kawandi quilting technique. |
