Welcome

The North Eastern branch (NE) of the Irish Patchwork Society (IPS) is based in Dundalk.  Our first meeting of 2025 / 2026 took place on Tuesday 9th September 2025, 10am to 12.30am in the Bridge Club, Ramparts Road.  At our September meeting we had a “Show-and-Tell” of members’ work, discussed IPS and our branch plans for the coming year, ending with tea / coffee.  Guests are welcome to two meetings before they join as members of the IPS; door charge €7 for guests and €5 for members  

We generally meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday each month and work on a variety of individual projects, IPS and branch challenges and learn from our many experienced Quilters and Patchworkers.  Occassionally we meet on a Saturday, advance notice is always given at our meetings and on our whatsapp group.  We continued to have talks, demonstrations and workshops by guest tutors and branch members and our very popular "Sit & Sew" mornings.

Our branch exhibition 2026 "Thread therapy" took place in the The Basement Gallery, An Táin Theatre, Crowe Street, Dundalk from Tuesday 28th April to 2nd May.  We were delighted to welcome our guest speaker Mary Bell, Executive Chairperson to launch the exhibition on Monday 27th April.  Branch members invigilated at the exhibition and met and chatted with our many visitors.  Thank you to all who visited and for your lovely comments in our visitor's book. 

Over the last year a number of our members took part again in Jules Mayouf's block of the month project. These and other participant's quilts will be on display during Quilt Fayre in Stormont hotel, Belfast which runs from Thursday 3rd September to Saturday 5th September 2026.
