ABOUT USThe Irish Patchwork Society was founded in 1981, following a meeting in the National Gallery in Dublin of 100 like minded people interested in patchwork. The idea came from the combined enthusiasm of three people, drawn together by their interest in textiles and patchwork. The Irish Patchwork Society is a member of the European Quilt Association (EQA) and associated with the Design and Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI). Today, the IPS consists of 7 branches around the country with over 500 members. |
IPS is a member of the European Quilt Association, made up of 17 national guilds working together closely to promote patchwork and quilting in Europe and to encourage the sharing of knowledge and information between member guilds. | IPS is one of the member GANS organisations (Guilds, Associations, Networks and Societies) represented by the Design and Crafts Council Ireland, which provides a range of programmes, supports and services in order to raise the standard and profile of Irish design and craft. |
